This is a tale of The Legend of Sirdania (part II) (you can read more of the 1st part of the story here and the 2nd part here): The Western Forest’s Wise Woman:
She was old and young at the same time. And she remembered well the past, when things were bright and happy and everything was peaceful. But her torment began the moment she realised that world was ending.
In her remote house in the Western Forest, she was not as disconnected as everyone thought. She could read the signs in the sky, understand the birds’ songs and speak to the good animals that lived or walked through her Forest.
A night which was strangely calm, a griffin appeared and announced:
-You have to be prepared, the Dragons have woken up.
Her moment had finally come.
